Language Lab: Empowering Learners Through Technology

The Department of English hosts a fully equipped Digital Language Lab installed with Orell Talk Language Lab Software, a state-of-the-art platform designed to enhance English language proficiency through interactive and immersive learning. The lab, consisting of 30 networked computers, was established with financial assistance from the MP Fund (2021-22) of Shri Benny Behanan, Honourable Member of Parliament.

Orell Talk is widely recognized for its advanced features that support all four essential language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The software provides a user-friendly interface for both instructors and students, allowing for real-time monitoring, evaluation, and feedback. It includes a wide range of interactive modules, voice recording features, audio-visual content, and exercises tailored to suit various learner levels. The system also supports individualized learning paths, enabling students to progress at their own pace while improving pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and overall communication skills.

The lab functions as a vibrant space for language training sessions, certificate courses, and communicative English workshops, making it a central component in the Department’s mission to promote language competence among students. By integrating technology with pedagogy, the Language Lab stands as a testament to the Department’s commitment to academic excellence, skill enhancement, and digital literacy, ensuring that students are equipped with essential communication skills for academic and professional success.
