Lahari Vimukthi Club

As per the directives given by the Dept of Collegiate Education and the Excise Department of Kerala, our college has formed a Lahari Vimukthi Club. The club initiates programmes that spread awareness against the menace of drugs and other addictive substances. Major programmes which we organized are as follows.

  1. Participation in Suchithva Bodhana Yajnam: The Lahari Vimukthi club joined hands with the NSS unit of the college and participated in the Padayathra held as part of Shuchitva Bodhana Yajnjam on 6 January 2019.
  2. Vimukthi Poster Exhibition: A poster exhibition was conducted in the premises of the college from 14 to 19 January 2019 in order to raise awareness against drug abuse and different types of addiction. The posters were designed by the students themselves and received attention from the whole of the college community.
  3. Short Film: A short film titled “Sports Spirit” was prepared by the students and sent to the short film competition held by National Health Mission. The work sends a message against the illegal use of drugs by sports personnel in order to improve their performance and how the practice can harm their health.
  4. Dance against Drugs: Students from our college participated as a team in “Dance against Drugs” competition conducted by District Tourism Promotion Council and Excise Department on 23 August 2019 at Durbar Hall Ground, Ernakulam. The performance was arranged as a dance drama based on the theme drug abuse.
