Creating Spaces for Dialogue, Equity & Empowerment

The Centre for Gender Studies functions as an academic and awareness-oriented initiative of the Department of English, fostering informed conversations on gender, identity, equity and social justice.

Through lectures, workshops, leadership programmes and collaborative initiatives, the Centre seeks to cultivate critical awareness, ethical reflection and socially responsible citizenship among students.

About the Centre

The Centre for Gender Studies serves as a platform for academic engagement and critical dialogue on issues related to gender, representation, identity, patriarchy and social transformation. By integrating scholarly inquiry with awareness programmes, the Centre encourages students to engage meaningfully with questions of equality, inclusivity and empowerment.

The Centre works in collaboration with departmental and institutional bodies to organise lectures, discussions and student-focused initiatives that connect classroom learning with contemporary social realities.
