The English Association functions as the vibrant cultural and literary wing of the Department of English, playing a key role in shaping the creative, intellectual, and social engagements of our students. It serves as a platform for learners to explore and express their talents, while also complementing the academic goals of the Department through co-curricular and extension activities.

The Association regularly organizes seminars, literary fests, debates, and interactive sessions with scholars and professionals in the field of literature, language, and media. These initiatives are designed to broaden students’ perspectives, enhance their communication skills, and cultivate a love for the English language in all its forms. The Association also collaborates with the Department’s other wings to integrate academic enrichment with cultural and social awareness.

One of the flagship events organized by the Association is the annual inter-departmental fest LITERATI, a much-anticipated celebration of literature and language held in the college auditorium. The annual event witnesses enthusiastic participation from students of various departments. Events such as Brain Buster (quiz), DB8 (debate), Spelling Bee, Avatar (motley), JAM (Just A Minute), Pen It Down (letter writing), Crea’C’tive (poster making), and English Queen showcase the diverse talents of the participants.

Beyond literary pursuits, the Association plays a supportive role in coordinating outreach and social extension activities, in collaboration with AGAPE and other departmental wings. Whether through book drives, scholarships, or awareness programmes, the English Association encourages students to become culturally aware, socially responsible, and intellectually curious individuals. In essence, the Association embodies the spirit of the Department—blending creativity, scholarship, and service into meaningful student experiences.
