‘Scivista-Biobeats’, a two day science exhibition in observance of the National Science Day was organized on 15th and 16th February 2024. It had more than 800 student participants from neighbouring schools.
On Dec 14th 2023, a product development programme was conducted in collaboration with Zaara Biotech to benefit the life science students of Mar Thoma College for Women, Perumbavoor. Seventy students were benefitted from this.
The Department of Zoology in collaboration with Social Forest wing organised a poster exhibition and Flash mob as part of wildlife conservation week celebrations on October 6, 2023.
On 26th September 2023, the department of Zoology had a study tour, a one day trip to Mangalvanam, Fort Kochi and CMFRI.
On 12th of July 2023, a paper bag making workshop was conducted in observance of Paper bag day and distributed to all departments of Mar Thoma College for Women, Perumbavoor.
As part of Environment Day celebration, ‘Trash to art’, a mini exhibition was held on June 05, 2023 to create awareness and educate communities about the impact of waste on the environment by showcasing the potential beauty in repurposed materials.
A Health Club that is dedicated in creating health awareness among students and in the neighbourhood. Seminars, poster presentations, video shows, extension activities and camps are organized .
A Science Forum that motivates students to discuss recent research articles or developments on a monthly basis, thereby instilling a scientific temper among them.
Departmental Magazine– handwritten manuscripts were released annually the students of zoology department till 2019. In tune with the current scenario, we too have moved to online magazine from 2020 onwards.
