The Department of Zoology

Though the Department of Zoology of Mar Thoma College for Women, Perumbavoor came into existence only in 1993, we had been offering our services since 1984 for Pre-Degree courses. We were upgraded with the M.Sc. Zoology- Environmental Biology course (self financing) in the year 2006. Our vision is to mould individuals adapted for tomorrow. The Department of Zoology through all its activities attempts to provide affordable quality education and equip students with knowledge and skills in biology, inculcate values, identify hidden talents, provide opportunities for students to realize their full potential and shape them into future leaders and above all good human beings.

Hosting two blogs- a department blog and a science blog- and running a health club and a science forum, the Zoology association of the department ensures the active participation of students in academic and extracurricular activities. We have always made efforts to extend our services to the community through health check- ups, awareness campaigns, water- quality testings, etc.
