25th Very Reverend A. A. Pylee Memorial Lecture September 11, 2024 The 25th Very Reverend A.A. Pylee Lecture, commemorating its Silver Jubilee Year, was held today at the Auditorium of Mar Thoma College for Women. This prestigious event, honoring the esteemed educator and clergyman, attracted notable personalities from diverse fields. Dr. Vinod K, Head of the Department of History, commenced the proceedings with a warm welcome. He emphasized the importance of the Silver Jubilee and highlighted Very Reverend A.A. Pylee’s significant contributions to education and spirituality. Principal Mrs. Sherin T Abraham supported this sentiment, underscoring the college’s dedication to such meaningful initiatives. Rev. Abi K Joshua, General Secretary of the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association, delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the profound impact of Very Reverend A.A. Pylee’s work on both education and spirituality. Dr. H.G. Mathews Mor Aphrem, Bishop of the Angamaly Diocese, offered the Inaugural Address. He praised Pylee’s impact on education and encouraged attendees to actively contribute to societal betterment. Hon. Justice K Narayana Kurup, the Guest of Honour, spoke about the commitment of citizens to society and stressing the need to integrate Gandhi's values into daily life. Keynote speaker Mr. Thushar Gandhi, author and great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, presented a lecture on “Changing India in the 21st Century” and engaged in interactive discussions with participants. Felicitations were given by Dr. Philip Cherian, Former Head of History, Dr. Bibin Kuriakose, Governing Council Representative, and Rev. C.A. Varghese, Retired Vicar General.
