Objectives

  • Promote physical fitness and well-being among students and staff.
  • Create awareness about the importance of regular exercise and healthy lifestyle choices.

Staff Structure

  • Club Coordinator: Faculty member with expertise in sports or physical education.
  • Assistant Coordinators (2): Faculty members to oversee logistics, event management, and collaborations.
  • Student Captain: Leads fitness activities and motivates members to participate.
  • Student Vice Captain: Assists the Captain in organizing and executing activities.
  • Activity Committees: Groups of students responsible for organizing specific activities like yoga sessions, Zumba classes, or sports events.

Major Activities

  • Daily Fitness Routines: Morning and evening fitness sessions, including yoga, aerobics, and warm-ups.
  • Workshops on Fitness and Nutrition: Sessions led by fitness experts and dieticians.
  • Sports Meets and Tournaments: Inter-departmental and inter-collegiate sports events.
  • Fitness Challenges: Monthly challenges like step-count contests, planking competitions, or cycling marathons.
  • Outdoor Activities: Trekking, hiking, and outdoor runs to promote fitness in natural settings.
  • Mental Wellness Programs: Activities like meditation and mindfulness sessions for stress management.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Posters, seminars, and talks on fitness and the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle.
  • Annual Fitness Fest: A day-long celebration featuring competitions, exhibitions, and interactive sessions.

Time Schedule

  • Daily Sessions:
    • Morning Fitness: 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM (Optional).
    • Evening Fitness: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday).
  • Monthly Events:
    • Fitness Challenges and Awareness Programs: Last Friday of every month.
  • Special Activities:
    • Quarterly outdoor events and sports meets.

Health & Wellness Club Activities 2024-25 at a Glance

The Health and Wellness Club, guided by Convener Dr. Vineed Kumar and Assistant Coordinator Dr. Sujo Mary Varghese, focused on enhancing students’ physical and mental well-being through a variety of workshops and fitness programs. Yoga and meditation sessions were conducted to improve concentration and stress management. First-aid training equipped students with essential life-saving skills, while workshops on nutrition and mental health provided valuable insights into maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Fitness challenges such as walkathons and boot camps encouraged students to adopt an active lifestyle. Through these initiatives, the club successfully fostered a culture of wellness and health consciousness among students.
