Department Activities

Physics department is regularly conducting webinars (international webinars) seminars(UGC,KSCSTE,DST sponsored International/National/State Level Seminars), training programmes(four day Environment Management Training Programme-Go Green, EMT 2019 with support from KSCSTE in 2020, Zonal central training programme on Nanotechnology in association with E-cell IIT Kharagpur and other state level programmes), certificate courses(Solar Energy Technology in 2018-19, Robotics in 2019-20, Course in LaTeX, Mathlab, Origin in 2018-19), workshop (Student solar Ambassador Programme in association with IIT Mumbai in 2019-20,) etc. The department celebrates Energy Conservation Day by organizing intercollegiate quiz, poster competitions etc in association with Energy Management Centre, Kerala and Energy Conservation Society, Kerala. Every year the department celebrates National Science Day National Science Day with seminar on the focal theme given by DST with support from KSCSTE and also conducts science lectures, essay competitions, demonstration classes, Sky watch programme etc. Department of Physics conducts exhibitions, which are open to the public. A large number of working as well as still models which could impart a clear-cut idea of the theories and principles in Physics is arranged. Those exhibits were prepared especially for the benefit of high school and higher secondary school students so as to generate an interest in them to pursue higher studies in physics. LED Bulb making, LED Star making, Solar lamp assembling etc which department regularly organizing gained much attention not only from the college community, but also from the nearby locality.
