Mar Thoma College for Women and the Rotary Club in Perumbavoor have launched a zonal program called ‘Jyothir Gamaya’ to address mental health and suicide. The initiative was inaugurated by District Governor Rtn Dr. G N Ramesh, who praised the community-led approach and the Rotary Club’s commitment to humanitarian causes. The panel of speakers included Municipal Chairman Paul Pathickal, Principal Dr. Letha P. Cheriyan, and Dr. Sr. Joseph Saritha, who highlighted the importance of mental health and the need for early intervention and robust support systems. The program served as a platform for dialogue and education, highlighting the importance of collective action in fostering a community that prioritizes mental well-being and offers hope to those in distress.
